Forgotten in the national media, forgotten in the public domain but not at Branch FM. That is why we have launched this appeal to support our troops out in Afghanistan.
There are 5,000 service men and women serving out in Afghanistan at the moment and many will be away over the Christmas period. Since they are no doubt missing their families at home at this time, Branch FM is hoping to help by sending out shoeboxes full of goodies for them to our representative out there in Afghanistan. Letting our troops out there know that someone cares for them.
Christmas is a wonderful time of giving and recieving. We recieve the efforts and security of our armed forces, its probably about time we gave something back. Therefore we suggest that you make up a shoe box and hand it in to the Branch Christian Bookshop, 17 Halifax Road. The staff there will be able to answer any questions you have. Also you can meet any of the presenters that are around at the time, they also will be able to help you with any issues or questions you may have.
Instructions on making up a shoe box
1. Get an empty medium sized (Ladies Size 5) shoe box.
2. Cover lid and box seperately in wrapping paper.
3. Place items securely in the box.
4. Place lid on the box and secure with an elastic band.

Of course you don't have to make up a shoe
box yourself. Just get hold of the goods needed to go in the boxes and
bring them to us and we will make sure we package it up for you. Abi
down in the shop will be dealing with all this and therefore if you have

So what do you need to put in the box
What you can send
- Crisps, Chocolate, Sweets etc.
- Chewing Gum
- Energy Bars, Nuts and Snacks
- Instant Noodles hot snacks i.e only need to add water
- Individual Hot Chocolate or instant hot drink sachets.
- Toiletries (non aerosol) i.e Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodrants (roll-on or stick)
- Flannels/ Basic Wash Kit
