Support Our Troops Appeal

From when they launched in 2007 Branch FM ran a very successful Christmas "Support Our Troops" appeal in conjunction with the listeners to the station. Together they got over 70 boxes together and sent them out to our troops in Afghanistan, many of them reaching sick and injured personel. We would like to pass on our thanks to the listeners, our representative out there (Kay) and the RAF for making it all possible. View Photos

Branch FM Official Launch

Branch FM took to the air in November 2007 and 2 weeks after they got up and running they ran a special "official" launch day which kick-started the 5 year licence for Branch FM. Jason Ramsey (Branch FM's Station Development Officer) and Rob Ward (Branch FM's Programme Controller/ Technical Director) along with Abi Stewart (innocent bystander/victim) built the make shift studio down on the coffee shop Sofa's. They worked on it from 8pm till gone 2am and then still turned up the kick the whole thing off at 9 the next morning. Hope you all had a good day! Branch FM First Show

Finally the wait was over. We had the equipment in and on. We had completed our 2 week test transmission and we launched at 7am for our first breakfast show. It was a pretty quiet morning (don't blame anyone at that time) but Jason Ramsey (Station Development Officer/Breakfast Presenter) and Steve Hodgson (Station Manager) were there to make Dewsbury history!
