A fantastic weekend of free live music and entertainment featuring well known pop acts, local performers and some vibrant world music.
Festival in the Park brings together two of the districts most popular events - Concerts in the Park, this year featuring The Magic of Motown and A World Together, featuring Alive Battle of the Bands, Dewsbury band The Sighting, Roll Deep and Gabriella Cilmi. Both days combine to make a spectacular summer event.
In addition to the live music, there will be entertainment and activities as well as food and drink stalls, creating a true festival atmosphere for all the family to enjoy.

This competition is open to anyone in the area, young or old, who wants to share their talent with the world. The best ten acts, selected by an expert panel of judges, will go through to the live final at Batley Live on Saturday 31 July.

This year's event will be extra special with a large fairground and a whole host of exhibitors such as craft stalls and canal associations. The Safe Anchor Trust will be giving free boat trips along the Dewsbury arm of the canal.
Refreshments will be available at The Old Stables Coffee Shop or for something slightly stronger call into the award winning Leggers Inn. A great family day out that is brought to its climax with the ever popular boat pull, when teams pull a canal boat over a distance in the fastest time.

Join the Yorkshire Day festivities in Dewsbury town centre, funded by Dewsbury Area Committee, to celebrate the best of the Yorkshire countryside traditions and food.
There will be rural crafts, folk dancing, live music and cookery demonstrations (including how to cook a real Yorkshire curry!). Highlights to delight Yorkshire people young and old alike will include the Yorkshire Flat Cap Throwing Championship and the Dewsbury Ferret Derby!
